Description

This is the second course in the ACCA FIA Diploma in Accounting and Business Programme. This course develops the knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts relating to financial accounting as well as the technical proficiency in the use of double entry techniques and the preparation and interpretation of basic financial statements for sole traders, companies and simple groups of companies.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Entrance requirement

Grade 12 with a good understanding of English and Mathematics or the completion of the Introductory and/or Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting.

Duration

This course can be completed in 3- 6 months

Outline

•Financial reporting 

•Qualitative characteristics of financial information 

•Use of double-entry and accounting systems 

•Recording transactions and events 

•Preparation of a trial balance and correcting errors 

•Basic financial statements for incorporated and unincorporated entities 

•Simple consolidated financial statements 

•Interpretation of financial statements 

Assessment

This course can be sat on demand, so when you feel ready to sit the exam you can do so at a Computer Based Exam (CBE) centre near you or if you’d prefer to do a paper-based exam you can do so in June and December.

*As ACCA is a professional accountancy body, it is important for them to ensure all students are aware of how to work and act in a professional and ethical manner. Because of this all students will need to complete Foundations in Professionalism. This can be done online and completed either before or after your exams.

Award

At the end of this course you will be awarded a SACOB certificate of completion. On completion of the FAB, FFA and FMA course, ACCA will award you with a Diploma in Accounting and Business.
