ICB Business Law and Administrative Practice Component

This course forms part of the Foundation Level in the ICB Office Administration Programme. It looks at how the law affects us all. Even our most basic day-to-day decisions have legal implications. In business, basic knowledge of legalities that underlie the world of commerce is paramount. The aim of this course is to make South African law understandable and to answer common questions about the law in layman?s terms. It is important to note that laws are not static ? they change over time, and new laws are promulgated from time to time. The topics covered in this course range from the basics of the South African legal system, to commercial laws involving contracts and litigation.

Requirements

Grade 12 (Std 10) or equivalent
You must be at least 16 years of age
No prior accounting knowledge needed.

Assessment

This subject is assessed by the ICB by means of a Portfolio of Evidence where you are required to complete Activities (assignments) and Evaluations (tests) and then complete a final summative assessment (exam) written at an ICB assessment centre. Please be sure to register for your assessment.
