


This is the first subject in the ACCA FIA Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting Programme. On completion of this subject students will have the understanding of basic accounting systems that get used daily in the workplace. This subject develops the understanding of the operational aspects of maintaining accounting records and procedures and how to record these transactions in the books of the organisation. Included is an introduction to the principles of double entry and how a computerised and a manual accounting system work.

At the end of this subject you will be awarded a SACOB certificate of completion. On completion of both the FA1 and MA1 subject, ACCA will award you with a Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting.

Grade 10 with a good understanding of English and Mathematics

Assessment
This subject can be sat on demand, so when you feel ready to sit the exam you can do so at a Computer Based Exam (CBE) centre near you or if you?d prefer to do a paper-based exam you can do so in June and December.
*As ACCA is a professional accountancy body, it is important for them to ensure all students are aware of how to work and act in a professional and ethical manner. Because of this all students will need to complete Foundations in Professionalism. This can be done online and completed either before or after your exams.
