Description

This course forms part of the Advanced Level in the ICB Office Administration Programme. Management is a subject where the think-tank of the company’s elite is dwelling every day to decide the future line of action in any matter that is of concern to the enterprise. The secret of corporate success lies in the optimum utilisation of available resources. Maintaining harmonious relationships internally amongst various departments and externally with various stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, the government, and international constituents is paramount. Business Management involves its futuristic programmes in a very pragmatic way, keeping the foresight focused in what is about to happen in near future. A good manager must possess qualities that include being positive, being capable, having endless enthusiasm, having vision and the ability to convert any mediocre staff into a high achieving team that is respected in the workplace. This course will show you how to achieve this, and will create a platform which can be used to build strong business and managerial acumen.

Institute of Certified Bookkeepers as a Quality Assurance Partner of the QCTO.

Entrance requirement

Higher Certificate: Office Administration, which consists of the Foundation and Intermediate Level.

• Management Functions: Operational Planning, Organising and Delegating
• Management Functions: Managing Change – Innovation, Culture Diversity and Technology
• Main management functions: Leading
• Main Management functions: Motivating, Communicating and Controlling
• The place and role of the middle manager in the organisation
• Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance

Assessment

This course is assessed by the ICB by means of a Portfolio of Evidence where you are required to complete Activities (assignments) and Evaluations (tests) and then complete a final summative assessment (exam) written at an ICB assessment centre. Please be sure to register for your assessment.

Award

This course is a short course as part of a national qualification. Once you have completed this course and the remainder of the level you will receive a national diploma.
