At SACOB, we offer tailored courses and programmes that provide fundamental foundation to learners around the country regarding their future careers. The Occupational Framework for Organisations (OFO) is a service that we offer students to guide them to the right courses and institutions for their desired career path.

In addition, the framework performs several additional actions, such as:

  • Identifying and listing scarce and important skills
  • Matching work seekers and job vacancies
  • Providing crucial career data and advice
  • Registering students for practical work in organisations

Once a learner has decided on a career they would like to pursue, they can consult the OFO which specifies the different levels and skills required for that occupation. The list is constantly being updated with new positions depending on the learning programmes available and the demand for a certain profession in the marketplace.

A problem that has plagued job seekers and students is the vague nature of certain newspaper and other publicised advertisements. Often top-level information is provided, such as the job-title, general position description and the company’s name that submitted the advert. But what about the level of experience required or the specific key performance indicators the new employee will be expected to fulfil?

SACOB has solved this problem by using the OFO’s thorough job index to give very specific details as to what is needed for each position, including opportunities available upon the completion of certain studies. An easy-to-use filter guides browsers through the list, making finding their ideal career path effortless. What’s more, each job listing has information regarding the specific learning programmes - and the institutions providing these - required for the occupation.
