Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa (CIS)
Welcome to the Chartered Secretaries Qualification
The Chartered Secretaries qualification is an international qualification which is currently recognised in more than 70 countries. Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa is a division of ICSA which is the global Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. The qualifications in Southern Africa are provided at 4 levels, each of which enables students to be employable at any stage during their studies. Due to the economic situation this is an added benefit when selecting a qualification.
Chartered Secretaries work in public as well as private companies, corporate secretarial firms, legal practices and international accounting firms. The CSSA requires you to have an interest in business and the economy, confidence to communicate with people, efficient organisational ability and strict attention to detail. Employers know what they are getting when employing a CSSA student and member.
After completing the CSSA International Qualification Board Examination and obtaining the relevant work experience you will become a member of the Institute and a Chartered Secretary. This title comes with a high level of respect and demands as it puts you at the forefront of governance issues.
There is currently a shortage of qualified and experienced Chartered Secretaries, this allows successful students to climb the corporate ladder quickly and obtain excellent skills and remuneration.
The CSSA has three qualifications for students to study. Each qualification is a learning programme that is made up of short courses.
